UNIC Moscow organized Stand Up on 17 October at the Moscow Central Dobroliubov Children’s Library – our new partner. The participants in the event were more that 20 students from Moscow Pedagogical College No. 9 “Arbat”. Addressing the audience, UNIC Moscow Director highlighted the MDGs, in general, and the eradication of poverty, in particular. He also focused on the five priorities of the Secretary-General – as stated before the 66th General Assembly. After a Q&A session, the Stand Up and UN4You videos were projected on a large screen for the attendees. Then a college student read out the Stand Up Pledge. The culmination of the event was Bob Marley’s song, “Get Up, Stand Up” and Stand Up. Finally, the students were suggested to sign the pledge which they will send to Russian Parliamentarians.
