University students in Bangladesh will meet at Rabindra Sharobor at Dhanmondi, Dhaka to brainstorm on the root causes of poverty and especially youth poverty and come up with an action plan which can be implemented by the youth, for the youth!

Last year, half a million Palestinian children, all refugees at UNRWA schools in the West Bank, Gaza, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan, stood up against poverty. In 2008 every UNRWA school child from ages five to eighteen will once again stand up in protest of their own poverty and the poverty of others suffering throughout the world.

At the Multi-Purpose Hall in Raffles Junior College, JC1 students and staff will stand up and say the pledge. From 13-24 October, activities will be conducted in tandem with SUTA to raise awareness about the MDGs and encourage participation in Stand Up and volunteering efforts.
